Fahan Senior School
Fahan School is a progressive independent school for girls from Kinder to Y12, founded in 1948. The school has a strong focus on innovative curriculum.
The ‘Main Building’ was constructed in a stripped ‘Beaux Arts’ style and is the face of Fahan, nestled in beautiful well established garden surrounds. This building is relatively un-altered, except for a series of diminishing extensions at the rear. The internal spaces are a series of small compartments unsuitable for contemporary school pedagogy.
This project is a major reworking of the internal spaces, to provide engaging functional and flexible learning and teaching spaces, together with a major extension at the upper level to provide support spaces for student and staff. This extension provides a new façade to the main courtyard and creates the Parents and Friends Plaza.
The Fahan Senior School Upgrade and Extension is designed to enable Fahan School to continue to deliver an exceptional education for girls.
